Enjoy a Sunday evening cookout concert at HopMonk Novato’s beer garden with New Monsoon! It’s Jeff Miller’s annual Birthday Bash!

Joining New Monsoon: Dale Fanning on drums… and Murph Murphy on bass!

With a drumming style steeped in African rhumba and a musical knowledge spanning the funky to the avant-garde, drummer Dale Fanning is best known for his work in Living Daylights, a bass/drums/saxophone trio that has toured throughout North America, Western and Eastern Europe. He’s shared the studio and stage with many of the world’s finest musicians including Bill Frisell, Jimmy Mcgriff, Reuben Wilson, Bernie Worrell, Grant Green Jr., Robert Walter, Skerik, Reggie Watts and more.

Murph joined the Freddy Jones Band (‘In a Daydream’) in the late ’90s which found him touring with Lynyrd Skynyrd and Peter Frampton, and shows with Pete Townshend, Train, Gov’t Mule and more.  He moved to the Bay area from Chicago in 2001 and immersed himself in the local jam band scene, playing with Izabella, Poor Man’s Whiskey, Tracorum, Stu Allen and Bizar Bazaar.  He loves laying down a thick groove as well as embracing the element of chance, following the music wherever it may lead.
