New Monsoon is pleased to announce that Sean Hutchinson has joined the band as its new drummer. Please join us for Sean\\\\\\\'s first California show at Earthdance on September 16.

At 22, drummer/multi-percussionist Hutchinson is an emerging force in the music world. He has performed at festivals and concert halls around the world including the Montreux, North Sea, and San Sebastian Spain Jazz Festivals and appearances in Mexico, Argentina, Germany, France, and the UK. Known for his versatility, Sean has shared the stage with Jazz greats such as Christian McBride, Wynton Marsalis, Paquito D’Rivera, Maria Schnieder, Alan Pasqua, Shelly Berg, Eddie Daniels, Tom Scott, John Clayton, Tierney Sutton, and also tours nationally and internationally with rock, pop, and world music groups.

Sean is at the forefront of a new generation of drummers without borders, incorporating tabla, djembe, frame drums, and even unique inventions of scrap metal into his eclectic setup. His playing is at once inventive and selfless, employing a sensitive touch, keen ears, and a percussionist’s perspective to serve each musical moment appropriately. He can make you dance with a deep groove or glide seamlessly between textures with a mallet in one hand and the other on the tabla.
